Bobby Glotfelty is a Licensed Financial Professional at Betterment, specializing in account transfers and rollovers. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a master’s degree in financial analysis and investment management and bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics. He holds his Series 7, 24, and 65. Prior to joining Betterment, Bobby was a senior investment products specialist at Northwestern Mutual.
VP of Operations
Boris brings a unique mix of engineering skills and legal and regulatory experience to the team. Prior to joining Betterment, Boris practiced tax and capital markets law at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, and has a J.D. from Northwestern Law. Before that, Boris was a software engineer at Antenna Software, and has a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard University.
Head of Customer Insights
Brian lead Betterment's concierge rollovers and transfers as head of Customer Insights. After leading customer support at Betterment for several years, Brian now uses his industry knowledge and servicing knowledge to drive innovation within the company. In his spare time you can find Brian skateboarding and drinking iced coffee.
Chrissy Celaya, CFP®
Customer Insights Supervisor
Chrissy Celaya is a Certified Financial Planner™ and supervises Betterment's concierge services for transfers and rollovers. Her team uses an advised approach to helping customers manage major transitions in their financial lives. Chrissy is also a champion for innovation within Betterment, using her day-to-day conversations to drive new product development.
Corbin Blackwell is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ who works directly with Betterment customers to help them achieve their financial goals. Corbin has several years of experience in wealth management, and is passionate about helping customers in every phase of life succeed financially.
Managing Director of Behavioral Finance & Investing
Dan Egan is the Managing Director of Behavioral Finance and Investing at Betterment. He has spent his career using behavioral finance to help people make better financial and investment decisions. Dan is a published author of multiple publications related to behavioral economics. He lectures at New York University, London Business School, and the London School of Economics on the topic.
Head of Tax
Eric is Betterment's Head of Tax. His experience includes working for Ernst & Young and Fidelity Investments. Eric holds M.S. degrees in Accounting and Taxation from Seton Hall University as well as an MBA in Quantitative Finance from NYU. He also serves as an adjunct taxation professor at Seton Hall University.
Content Marketing Manager
Jamie Cartwright manages Betterment's content resources and publications. A content creator at heart, Jamie writes on topics related to personal finance, advisory growth, and technology. As the Resource Center's manager, Jamie devises editorial strategy, coordinates writing staff and freelancers, and serves as the main contact for co-promotional and guest writing initiatives.
Customer Experience Supervisor
Joe Wang supervises a customer support team at Betterment. Answering customer questions on a daily basis, Joe provides over-the-phone technical answers, and he uses feedback to drive product innovation at Betterment.
CEO & Founder
Jon Stein is the CEO and founder of Betterment. Passionate about making life better, and with his experience from his career of advising banks and brokers on risk and products, he founded Betterment in 2008. Jon is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Business School, and he holds Series 7, 24, 63, and is a CFA charterholder. His interests lie at the intersection of behavior, psychology, and economics. What excites him most about his work is making everyday activities and products more efficient, accessible, and easy to use.
Kevin brings his skills building mobile experiences, crafting object-oriented abstractions, and bicycling in heavy New York City traffic to Betterment’s mobile team. After studying Computer Science and Math at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kevin worked at Google in San Francisco. He has built apps on his own long enough to value a great team—and also knows the value of solid burrito.
Ming Jia manages trading and investment operations at Betterment. With a background in foreign exchange and securities trading, Ming previously worked at Credit Suisse and studied Economics and Finance at NYU's Stern School of Business. Ming holds Series 57, 63, and 7 certifications.
Senior Director of Trading and Investing
Rukun is the Head of Trading at Betterment. Before joining Betterment, he worked at Highbridge Capital Management. He's decent at math, statistics, and Trivial Pursuit. He's a graduate of Cornell University and strongly believes The Sopranos is the greatest television show of all time.
Quantitative Investing Associate
Sebastian Rollén is a quantitative investing expert at Betterment, where he develops models that inform our products and advice. Previously an associate at a boutique investment firm, Greenbridge Partners, Sebastian holds degrees in Economics and Physics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Associate General Counsel
Seth is Associate General Counsel at Betterment. Seth previously worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell and was a law clerk for a federal judge in New York. He received a J.D. degree from Columbia University and B.A. from Stanford University.
Sherrill St. Germain
A former fee-only planner, Sherrill St. Germain, CFP®, brings a decade of financial planning experience to content she develops for financial services professionals, firms, and publications. She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University as well as an MBA from Clark University. Her work and ideas have been featured in books, online, and in magazines including Kiplinger Personal Finance, The Wall Street Journal and Financial Planning Magazine.
