Do I need to set up travel alerts for when I travel?

You do not need to notify Betterment about your travel plans. However, if you’re traveling abroad, please note that debit card usage in certain countries may be blocked. In certain countries, card usage and login access to Betterment’s application and/or website may be blocked. Contact us if you plan to be abroad for an extended period of time to avoid unexpected disruptions in account access.
As always, please note that if unusual activity is detected on your card, you may be requested to confirm the flagged transactions. Keep in mind that you can always place a temporary lock on your debit card if you need to. If you suspect fraud on your account, lock your card and contact us during business hours for further assistance.
