From his first swing at age 2 to the tour at age 22
Michael Thorbjornsen began golfing as a toddler in Wellesley, MA, learning early on from his father, who continues to coach him today. Known for his unique 10-finger grip (rare among pros), Michael is proving that doing things your own way can still get you to the top. With major amateur wins, including a conference championship during his time at Stanford, he was the only player from his graduating class to go directly to the tour. In just his third pro tournament, he finished second, making it clear he’s here to win. And while he stays focused on every shot, Betterment handles his other long game—investing, planning, and building for what’s after the green.

Having a partner like Betterment allows me to have the freedom to focus on what I need to focus on, and that’s being the best golfer that I can possibly be.
